If you feel like you are not setting a good example by swinging, are you embarrassed about the idea? Do you think it's wrong? Then why do you want to do it?
Well actually, I can imagine kids asking things along those lines to most swinging parents. I'm not a parent but i'm interested in what folks would do in such a scenerio! Any parents here care to shed some light on the subject?
I wouldent tell my family, they would totally freak! But I would probably tell friends because most of my friends are laid back and would probably just laugh and not ask any questions.
What's so bad about telling them. I say tell them. Brainwash them. Convert them. If you can't tell them why are you doing it then? There is nothing to be ashamed about this.
It's not like we are going to clubs and sharing our wifes to total strangers..ohh oppps. we are, aren't we? :grin:
I would never tell any of our friends or family. They don't need to know about our sex life in any capacity so why would that change just because we are swinging?

There is no need for anybody to know about our most private matters. we are not ashamed of being in the lifestyle but others just wouldn't understand. People would judge you blindly.
Just like that time I set the library on fire for distributing that filthy pornography they call fiction... haha no.. but its true - people love a chance to to discriminate.
As for telling kids, I think it would be better that they don't know about it. This is not a matter of being ashamed of what we do. It's a matter, at least to me, of emotional and mental maturity, which is something that kids lack, and yes, that includes teenagers too.
Why are you guys so ashamed to tell? If this is something you enjoy greatly, don't you think the logical thing to do is to your bring your friends in too? We must make ourselves strong people! Increase our numbers. We are a minority now. We need to conquer this planet. So by all means tell everyone. Bring them in..bring them all to me. yes!
No weeder, it's not because we are ashamed of it. It's just that people will never understand. Things we do might be quite ok to us but it may not be the same with others. Why ruin a great friendship or relationship over this? So it's better that we don't tell. As far as increasing numbers, they will all come to the dark side on way or the other. ;)
I don't think swinging is something to feel ashamed about. Everybody in my family and friends knows that I swing. Be practical and live your life in your way. I give a shit to society I do what I like.
Thanks for all your replies. I appreciate it. We were just starting and we were unsure as to whether to tell our friends & family. I think after listening to all, I think we would say. This is our life and this is something that we want to do and they should accept for who we are. Thanks again for replying guys.
We have been talking about this. We still haven't reached to any conclusions. After reading all of your replies I think it's best that we don't tell. No matter how close people are, I think it's nice to have a certain boundary.
