Talking at the gloryhole ?

Hey guys

One night we we're at the gloryhole and had an experience where a guy kept popping his head down and persistently trying to communicate with us, making us feel very awkward.. Is this a common thing these days?  As we thought gloryholes were supposed to be anonymous??? Just wondering what everyone else's thoughts or experiences are about this..
