Its perfectly ok to invite a person to your house, as long as you have taken some safety precautions, I find that talking to the person on the phone beforehand helps to relax the situation, maybe also invite somebody you have known for a long time aswell, the internet safety thing is blown way out of proportion, but there are still risks out there.
