Warming the Bed

Hi Fellow doggers
Not sure where to post this, apologies if it is the wrong place.
I'm sure this goes without saying, but it is that time of year now when we need be extra careful when out in the parks to play. Yesterday, whilst walking at Jells Park (South), I nearly stepped on a red bellied black snake. Luckily, he wasn't in an aggressive mood, because I was very close to him, my foot was literally on the way down, if he didn't move, I would have stepped on him, and more than likely, been hit by him. This wasn't in the bushes or on the "dirt" track, it was laying in the road leading to the end carpark, a high traffic area, both vehicles and foot traffic. This snake was about 1.5 meters in length, and looked in good shape, probably just woke up after the winter slumber, so I'm sure there will be more of them coming out into the open now, especially when the sun is out and the road is nice and warm for them. So be careful out there folks.
