Im over these pics people take in the reflection of their bathroom mirror :sad: How hard is it to take a descent shot,so many who have pics that are sideways,come on people,some effort into your pics. kay

Firstly your pictures are fine and we understand where you are coming from. We like helping people so let's find a solution for those who want to improve their photos. If you are using an iPhone there is an app called selfie. It is a timer for your phone and has face detection as well. If you are using a phone light is important as an iPhone or camera phone has a small sensor. So take your picture outside on an overcast day or make sure room is well lit. Use some thing to secure your phone like blue tac if you don't have a tripod. Now this isn't our thread but I have a love for photography and any advice I give is just my opinion. To me photos should tell a story and an enviromental portrait is the best way. Profile pics should show who we are, what we look like, what we do and who we would like to attract. You don't need a fantastic camera some of my best work is on my iPhone. Tips Look at your surroundings, if indoors make sure area is clean. Clothes on floor, cupboard doors open food plates dirty on a table is just to name a few things. Don't just look at your self as the subject but what is around you. Make sure lighting is good. That doesn't mean a bright sunny day it is better to take photos on overcast days. If indoors use what light sources you have natural light from a window is a great option. Think about your photos and what are you trying to say. If you are fit sporting type, laid back and relaxed, classy try to portray this. Or market yourself to what you want to attract. Unfortunately people do judge a book by its cover and a picture says 1000 words. I hope this helps some people and as mentioned this is not our thread but we hope some of the advice can help.
On another site I stumbled across a series of rather tastefully composed pics of a very attractive female half of a couple. Set in the bedroom, they showed her draped across the bed, and gave a clear view of a stack of titles on the bedside table on what was obviously her side of the bed - all of which were relationship self help books - how to improve your marriage type advice. There must have been a stack of five or six of them. It certainly raised questions for me about why the couple were seeking others. It's quite obvious ( and both sad and painful) when one half of a couple is just going through the motions to 'save' the marriage. In this case, they flagged it loud and clear!
Other pics show overflowing ashtrays and sinks full of dishes - hardly appealing! I do understand that at times it might be necessary to use a mirror for a selfie, but please clean it first so we aren't treated to a history of popped zits!
well ,,,mine aren't exactly the best , they were taken using the camera in my little lappy (didn't and still don't have a camera, tho i do have a phone now and when i work out how to use the bloody thing properly i will take more) but atleast they are clear and the right way up ,,and also most importantly no more than 6 months old ,,,,, ,,,old pics, no matter how good , help no one really .
If you're going to put pics up, the only reason we can see for not having some basically decent pics is laziness.
Cameras have been standard in phones for years, but if you're still living in the dark ages then you can pick up a basic camera for $30 on eBay. Stick it on a tripod/shelf/chair/box/whatever, hit the self timer and shoot away. Sure, it might take a lot of back and forth, checking the shot, posing again, trying different outfits, different lighting conditions, etc. That can all add up to a bit of effort. But as per our opening line - what do you call it when someone CBF'd putting in any effort? Laziness.
If they CBF'd putting in any effort for some simple photos, why would we think they're going to put in any effort at being a good lover?
All very good advice.. But at the end of the day, some people just don't have a clue about taking photos. They don't understand the diff between a good pic and a bad pic... And hey.. at least they have made an effort to put a pic up, which is much more than a lot on here.
your right tempted ,,,a camera is cheapish nowadays ,,but having comeback from uk after a failed relationship with nothing but the clothes on my back and a few little things in a rucksack , this itty bitty laptop amongst them ,,,i do feel some things are more important.... like food ,housing, decent furniture ,,,,,,sending money to my dauhter for her upkeep ,,despite never bein able to see her again ,,,just because some can't be arsed or actually can't afford to buy a camera doesn't mean they will be lazy lovers or lazy anything ,,,some folks have other priorities ,,,, but as stated in other replies whether good or bad atleast many/most have made some attempt ,,,others who haven't may well have very valid reasons for not doin so ...i my self have met some with no pics ,,,nice folk all
Most of my pics are taken with my phone camera,set the timer,sit it down, press, pose in front of it. Not rocket science.

Yes great pics you have there and agree no excuses these days ... doesn't take much effort and some imagination goes a fair way.
Quite a few of mine are taken with my webcam, I have had meetups where I have asked the guy/s to take photos of me and returned the favour for them. There are always options
i love self pics , some mirror work is great just dont like the filth in the back ground. saw one profile on here, the woman is hot as , only trouble is theres kids toys and cloths stacked up in the back ground, another has a box of nappies and other rubbish stacked to the hieght of the tv behind her.
as hot as she is the back ground destroys it. makes you wonder what the rest of thier life is like
the one thing i do is if there are no pics i dont even read any further, even half a body slightly out of focus and sideways is better than none. its just i need a pic because some peoples ideas of slim, medium and large arnt the same as mine
When a couple first initiates contact with us, the first thing we do, (human nature) is to take a look at their photo's. if even one of the couple needs to rely on taking their own photo for on here it sends up a massive red flag. Where is the other half of the couple? Why couldn't they have taken a pic? Which leads into the next question.....Is there even a partner? As much as flirts and i have discussed it, we cant come up with a plausible answer. Flirts is like a forensic investigator when it comes to looking at pics.....One time on another site, a rather attractive woman messaged to meet up with just me (which flirts is cool with) and when he looked at her private gallery, he noticed that in the background were European power points....when i questioned her on this, she disappeared and we were blocked, but as was mentioned before, you can tell so much about a person by the background of their house in photos lol Squirtsxxx
