Ok i know this is in my mod nick.. but this is being written as a non mod.... Admin know folks are annoyed about the site being down and being a cow at the moment... I have managed to hear, some things, that make me laugh.. Now i thought i would give a heads up, on what this site is all about.. AND no.. im not saying this because im a mod. This is purely.... to let you folks know things... Back in the beginning of this chat on SH, OLD chat was a shocker.. OFTEN.... way often in more ways then most would know... Some of the older long time chatters.. will agree to this. Admin and techies, started working on what we have now... Brand new chat, from the bottom up... And i mean from the bottom up.... Hiccups along the way.. BUt over all this chat as run WAY much better then old chat.. mind you i loved the old chat...lol The site... gets updates.... be it say shrep.. or new icons.. things hiccup.. some work.. what they think was wrong, can some times, not be the thing caused it.... In the time that new chat as been up.. its been about nearly 3 years now.. ITS rarely ever gone down.... Now when techies.. are working on the site.. it does lag, they try hard not to have to work on it, in our peak times. But now and then... it happens. Now heres some things, most members dont know.. Us aussie folk, have a high loggin rate on this site.. then their other Adult sites.... We beat this site, up major, and work it hard. So before you say how shit something is.... Word of advice, if you really dont like a site.. well dont stay.... the site, doesnt have super powers to keep you.... If your really concerned.. Please use the support ticket link, which is under the contact button over there <<<<<<<< .. and talk to admin about this. Please dont use... the mods.... to be going off at.. we are just members.. and we support the site. Because we like it.. and not because we are mods...... BUT we have nothing to do with the techie side.....but we do our best to get you info, when we get it. Admin knows your annoyed... When mods know information though.. folks will know.... Rose

The problems, site wise are still here.
Not as bad as it was. At the time of this post. The number of bootings from chat as dropped.
I know the techies have been on real late, trying to track down what as caused this. And that they are sorry, its still happening.
But they are working it!!!
At the moment, thats the information i have.

Rose and Techies, Thanks for the information and the hard work you guys put into the site. I suppose we all take it for granted, we log in and start chatting without realising the big work done behind the scenes. The Mods Admins and Techies all do a great job and we thanks you for that. <<< would like a free week added to our account due to the probs with SH over the last 24+ hours. Even right now is not running smoothly. Payed memebrs here not getting full benefit, couldn't chat, view and respond to msg's, view pics yesterday from couples looking for a date, not good! Will SH step up to the plate and help out?

in answer mrsramjet, i have no idea what admin will do... Now as i started this as a non mod post... Heres how i look at it. Most non paying members.. are non paying members because they have been on site... for a long time. That doesnt make them any less important, then the so called paying members. All members who joined, up to the 25 thousand mark, got a free life time members. Those from then till 80 thousand.... members, still got everything free, except for Xtras. Now in may this hit the site hit the 80 thousand, and it was time, for the site to start paying its way.... smile

it was all growed up. Now ... and no offense is intended here. And im not saying what im saying because im a mod. In fact im saying it as a member. We could of had no site at all. We still have been able to log in. We have been able to use the site. Even if booted out of chat. * and i wont tell you how many times, my arse got kicked. or the other mods or the other members. I could under stand this request, if we had no site at all... Oh and this is based, on sitting in chat, for a very long time, over the weekend. the photos were gone less then 24 hrs... my self... i only couldnt reply to messages in chat, when lag hit. So out of 4 days the site as been swimming in mud, your saying you want a weeks free... ??? So what do those that havent paid, or are long term members get then... just curious, as i think, we should be fair all over. No im not picking on anyone. Just asking... is all.

Rose, The members that havent paid lost nothing, they cant use chat or contact other members etc so there for should'nt be compensated. Paying members, such as ourselves and all the other paying members should get at least something shouldn't they? Its nearly 2013 the NET has been around for quite a few years now and so has SH and if SH and its 'servers' cant get their act together and run a decent site, then get out of there. Simple. If mrandmrsramjet run a 5 star restaurant on a one and a half star budget then we would'nt last long in business now would we. See where this is going? So if SH wanted to play ball then they would come out and announce (and not through you) "We wish to advise that due to technical diffulcties that SH is blah blah blah...." By running a bad site potential non paying members who were about to hand over their "hard earned" or already payed members who's account was just about to expire may take their money else where. We were chatting with 2 couples yesterday arvo rose, one of those couples gave us access to their PG of pics and asked us "tell us what you think"? We couldnt tell them as we couldn't see their pics. We lost "two sales yesterday" rose so we believe we should get something? What are we on now day 5? We'll have 5 days then please. wink

they was awarded, with free lifetime membership :) for helping the site grow. They use chat and all of the site including emails...So your telling me.... they arnt important??? As i said..you could of been logged off site....Admin have chosen not to do that at this time. While it was fixed.. :) Folks have still been able to get on site. And if you uumm lost sales.. then... what does it say.. if folks cant wait.. :) to see what others are really like. :) Photos was only missing less then 24 hrs :) :) As for anything else.. it will be up to admin :) Oh and please.... dont be thinking .. im not annoyed, i am just as much as any other member. But I just know admin have managed to keep the site going, with no major hiccups, in the last 2 years till now. And im one of a few founding members of chat.... Old chat was worse then this. I can assure you. I will keep supporting them as a member... and if hiccups come along... try and remeber, not everything can be fixed in seconds :) Im sure Admin will be in contact, as soon as they get a chance :) They have been handling all support tickets, placed since this started, as well as trying to find out whats caused this.

UUMMM i would double check yeh java software is up to date, as both early this morning and now.. I have managed to get straight into chat with no problems.

With all the problems onsite this last weekend it was interesting to see the people who took it in their stride and those that whinged like 4 year olds "are we there yet" yes it was annoying but we were still able to catch up with others with PMs and chat while it worked. Thanks Guys

that same telco has kissed our bum for the past 12 months since they fixed "their prob" and we couldnt be happier.

$550 for a service on something that cost you a lot more is way different to what ever you pay on here, theyre looking into it, what else can you ask. if you chuck a hizzy fit it will get fixed just as fast as if you just let them be and look at it to fix it yes its annoying but as far as im concerned shit happens , its a computer and they never run right. ive also got more to worry about than fucking some stranger thanks mods, thanks techies when you fix it and thanks admin for providing a great site to play on. .

I have to point out that you have made an incorrect assumption with your point. Although I believe there have been errors made by the Swingers Heaven management. The errors are actually in the form of Lack of communication rather than technical.
You state that there is no difference between running a website and doing car repairs. In a way there is some truth to this but your scope of the big picture is very limited with this analogy. Imagine that that the issue was not with your but a problem with the fuel you are putting into your car. Yes, you can empty your tank and refill but you may have to wait for 5 days for the delivery of the clean fuel or make the decision to keep using the bad fuel until there is a replacement.
The Internet is interconnected by its very nature and the issue may be else where. To continue with the car analogy, the car could be fine but the roads have pot holes it them, other drivers may block your path, or not let you merge. It may also be a fact that the car is in at the mechanics but he has to wait five days for the correct part to arrive from overseas (and you expecting the car to work without this part). Given that it was Sunday in Los Angeles (this is were the SH servers are located), it is easy to assume they are waiting on parts or a senior engineer.
I would like to thank Rose as she seem to be facing the storm with this issue and she has done her very best with little information given to her.
To the management of SH: Some customer service emails stating that the issue can not be fixed until ##/##/#### would have been great (and still could be). This would of gone a long way to aligning our expectations and limited the negative emotion that seems to be around.

Regardless of the issue of compensation, I feel let down by the fact that the formal administration of this site have not issued a statement about what happened and when we could expect it to be fixed, and nor have they issued formal progress reports, instead relying on us to be reassured by vague assurances that the techies are onto it, and they will be again when they wake up in the morning. What's more, I'm led to believe that some of the discussion and apologies were given in the chat room, at a time when maybe only 15% of the usual traffic numbers appeared to be able to access the site ( and then, how long were they there for? )

I was a member before i was a mod...I separate my posts that way. So folks know. To be fair.
If you think my comments here are not supporting the site, then i would suggest you missed something. I have done alot of explaining.. why's and why fors.. Got called liers.. and i few other names under the sun. And told we dont care about the site. EVEN though it was explained, more then once that mods are the middle folk, we dont have that kinda of techie control.
If we wasnt productive, We wouldnt of taken the time to pass on what we knew.
So please dont say we arnt being productive or supportive. Mods believe in the site and what they are trying to work for....otherwise they wouldnt be a mod.
Your more then welcome to drop me an email... OR admin on what you believe would be more productive for this site.
And positive attitude... Was given heaps.... More then you saw or heard. But the fact is.. We can not make make people stay. Even with the site running well.. we cant make members stay if they dont want too.. Love them too, but be realistic... It comes down to members.. and what they think, to make them stay. I have never sugar coated anything. Gees i would love to think, folks would stay and support the site. But hey... once again... *mind you i saw some amazing support from some amazing chat members, towards the site and mods, even with the problems.
And I know im greatful. For the support.
As for future success.. please.. i have watched the site grow along with many other members grow from 9000 to over 100 thousand in 4 years... If thats not a positive and supporting.
