Hi,
I have a question regarding the new account structure that was introduced recently. As we have an older account they don't seem to affect us but would like to know how they effect members who have recently signed up.
For example, I am pretty certain that somebody who signs up today cannot send messages to other users? Can they reply to messages that have been sent by other users or do they require a paid account to do this?
Also, are new members able to see pictures from other people's profiles or do they need a paid account for this?
I have had a look on the site but cannot seem to find where it indicates the difference between a paid account and non-paid account (as they stand today).

Yes you are right, they cant send messages.. At this time. As for sending messages ie in reply.... i will have to check, but will assume .. No they cant.

So does that mean our free access has been cut down? One thing that attracted us to this site is that it was actually usable without a paid subscription. So what's now been cut and what can you do as a free member?

Well you still have the same things as you did before For others... since may.. that as changed.... :)

I recall a notification advising that some things were changing but did not affect existing account holders. If you don't read your notifications closely you may have missed it. Existing members (prior to May) will see no difference (as I understand) but members since then will have a lesser access level unless they pay. I must admit that the current pricing being offered is very reasonable and competitive compared to other sites. Happygirl
I can confirm that new members can't reply to messages they receive from other members, they can only post comments back onto their wall. Which is why you are seeing an increase of email addresses being left in the public domain. Also new members can't see all pictures that are on people's profiles, only some.
My girlfriend had an account which she cancelled, but has since rejoined but has very limited access to what she had. So without paying for membership (which is the point to raise revenue) you are vitually unable to contact any members without posting your email details in a public domain.
Reading the posts it realy seems strange that the now basic members can not reply to messages they get , isnt that disadvantaging the ones who have a upgraded membership when they send a message to someone and the reciever can not reply to them . can understand the not being able to send messages but not reply to them ...why??
Other sites we are on you can reply to recieved messages with a basic membership but not send them to other members ., think this is something SH will have to fix up pretty quickly seen they are wanting new members to pay for a upgraded membership , Anyone should be able to reply to messages

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The point above is one of the main reasons I am hesitant to go Premium - Living in the country means there are very few paid accounts in our area. To get the most benefit from the site we need to be able to communicate to non-premium members. If going Premium means the majority of users in our area are still unable to message us back - there is much lesser value in a paid account for us. (Happy to accept this may be different for city folk who have more Premium profiles in their area to choose from). I will say again however, that the current pricing for a paid account is very reasonable compared to other sites. If non-premium members can return messages from Premium members my decision to go Premium would be very easy. Will await the final options and structure from the Admin team - and thanks again for the replies. Cheers, Happygirl

Happygirl, you already have Premium access, it is only new users that need to pay for premium access, when we introduced the requirement for new members to pay, we decided that all existing members would have free premium access for as long as they wished to stay members of the site with their account, there is the optional Extras package which gives you a few more options if you wish to pay for that. We will run a trial, allowing new members to reply to a few messages every day from other members to see how that goes.
We have used other sites and yes the pricing is very affordable in comparison to them,BUT they offer lots more features than this site does,This site is easy to navigate but a few of our friends have joined after 2nd of may and say they wont pay that much for the use of this site (their choice). it needs to be considered by admin the numbers that are joining this site and staying here since 2nd may it the only real way to gauge how much the cost is effecting swingersheaven.
As the site is not really a stable site on the internet at moment and yes we have been told it is being fixed,But everything together turns people off.

All IMO only of course
- All users should be able to reply to messages sent to them bu other users/members - there should not be a restriction at all in this regard as it disadvantages the sender of the message (who, by extension must be a premium member to have sent the message) and it is always best to not disadvantage those members that are the business bread and butter.
- As with Needas, we know fo some people who we had recommended to join the site because of what it offered and the value, but who has quickly since left as they have found that they cannot get the basic level of access that is available in other sites/locations
- IMO only again here but there should be a paid member status (ie. unlimited messages etc) a secondary status for those members who were priot to May 2012 and may not have paid (ie. restricted messages to 2 - 4 per day) and the new member (maybe unlimited flirts and 1 message per day). Thence, upon reachingg a specific vouch level (vouches provided by existing paid or premium members) the new member is 'elevated' in status (ie. once they have been found to be genuine by other similar members).
One of the things that bought us to this site was the ease of use and the extremely good value, and as such it would be a shame to see this disappear.
Whilst it is a commercial reality that costs are increasing it could also be seen as a poor or bad move (again IMO) to alienate a range of members who may pay by not allowing new members to contact back those that have sent messages

Thanks Admin, I realised that I had Premium - but noticed that all of a sudden the number of people I was sending new messages to were not return messaging (Even if not interested I would often still get a 'Thanks but No Thanks message) which led me to believe that the newer members were limited somehow in their replies. I also believe that messages are now having email addresses and phone numbers removed also (which I am sure never occurred before). Even if I paid for Extras (or Premium for that matter), if unpaid profile holders are unable to return my messages from me it is of no value as there are very limited paid account holders in the country areas - my money would be better spent on a site that allows unpaid accounts to return messages from paid account holders. I am glad that you are trialling limited daily messages for new account holders. Would even be happy with no messages for unpaid but the ability to return a message from a Premium and Extra's account holder (which is what many other sites do). Not knocking the site - Hopefully just providing some constructive feedback. Cheers, Happygirl

Just letting you know that site emails are edited to remove personal email address and phone numbers from member emails. It has happened to my girlfriend on two occassions and she and others are being creative when leaving their personal email address in a public domain. Also just so you know she is unable to post or reply to this forum, hence why I am doing it on her behalf. Thanks

Just letting you know that site emails are edited to remove personal email address and phone numbers from member emails. It has happened to my girlfriend on two occassions and she and others are being creative when leaving their personal email address in a public domain. I am afraid I have to agree with Tommy.....
I have tested it by sending a private message with an email address and phone number in it to a new member - they are both deleted at the other end.
The disclaimer on the bottom of the Private Message sort of confirms it.

you were just told by a moderator that dose not happen.
site emails cannot be accessed by moderators to edit.
emails and whispers are the 2 places in the site where you can swap contact details as not deemed as public areas.
the warning i send when removing contact details from quick comments and profiles says to use site emails and whispers to pass on these details.
now free members can send 3 messages per day since yesterday, there should be no need to keep on about it.
plus it dose not matter how creative you get, it still says the same and will be removed.
anyone who has had details removed get this msg-
your quick comment on profile has been deleted as it is against site rules to post personal contact details in any public section of the site. please use site email and whispers to share this information.

We think that after more years in the swinging lifesyle than we care to admit that this site offers the best value for dollar anywhere. We have met more playmates here than on any other site. The ease of of use of the site is second to none and suggest that if you can't see the value here then you are just complaining for the sake of it. Get on with enjoying the site and what it offers. Blond Nymph, Can you clarify what you mean by 'Site Email'? Is this the "Message" tab? If it is, this is the method I am using to send messages and experiencing email and phone details being automatically removed when received by the recipient. I have just checked this in the last half hour with a friend who has an unpaid account and the email and phone details have been removed and the statement at the bottom saying that if they want to see the contact information they will have to upgrade to a paid account. Am I using the wrong contact method? Happygirl

There doesn't appear to be an indicator on profiles indicating whether someone is a paid member or not. (Or did we simply not see it?)
Therefore, we can be sending messages to people with no idea whether they can even reply to us or not? How daft is that?!

UUmm tempted, did you not see blonde say, that.... non paying members can send 3 mail aday??? a non paying member, is easy to find :) check the dates they joined, anything from May 2012 are, in the new changes :) making them, the new non paying members anything before that, are what called lifetime members. :) If they joined before Sept of 2010, they have everything the site offers, without having to pay, (premium and extras for free). After that the folks who joined became just premium members, and if they want 5 cams they paid for extras. Then when the site arrived at around the 90 thousand mark. Is when the new change, came in. Admin have trialled the new changes, since that point. To see how the site and members have handled it all :) :) Expect more site changes.. :) in the months to come :) The aussie site as always worked the techies and admin hard :)

And relying on knowing a date to determine access levels is equally silly (though of less importance if everyone can at least send messages).
Any further updates on the removal of email addresses and phone numbers from personal messages?
I tested it again last Saturday and it was still doing it (....despite being told several times that is doesn't). I am guessing it was a tech setting in the back end of the website set incorrectly if it was not intended.

Hey happygirl.. Normally yes.....that doesnt happen. Have been on site for a what seems a long time. And private details have never been removed for emails, sent thought the site. Admin had set up a few guidelines, when things changed in may, and seems a hiccup occurred.... I have been told by admin that the changes occurred recently, to emails being sent, and this as been tested by mods and admin. Im sure sarahadmin is looking into this, and is keeping mods, posted as things are coming up and so on. Have you tested since then.. Let me know. The techies are on their summer break at the moment, so there is a small delay on some things..... As well as the site getting ready to be optimized, so we dont get what happened a few weeks ago. ie as well as with the emails. stay posted. Rose

You response is much appreciated.....I thought I was going mad when people were saying that details were not being removed from emails when they were happening in front if me recently.
I have not tested since last Saturday - at that time any Private Messages sent between myself and a new account holder were having phone numbers and emails removed. We have a friend who set up an account recently and was at out house so we were able to test sending messages by logging into each account and checking the messages being sent and recieved.
If we get a chance to do it again in the near future I will do so and let you know if it is still happening.
