NEW GALLERY FORMAT SUX

Anyone else find the new gallery layout and format is woeful.. @Admin please reverse this format as the on=ld one worked and was easy to sort as required...

Yes today is the first time we have seen the new format and it is horrible! Not user friendly, filters are difficult to navigate and terribly located. It has gone backwards. One wonders who on earth did the 'testing' before it went live.

Lol thought there was something wrong with My iPad. Yep we people don’t like change if ain’t broken why change it.

We might all need to start submitting support tickets so that the global admin get the message, although highly unlikely they will listen going on past performances, the down side of this new global site... maybe start with the local admin & moderators in the chat rooms as well, surely enough people will force change.

It needs to change back to the way it was. If not, I suppose the decision to renew our membership or not might be a bit easier to make. The site isn't what it use to be, sadly.

Agreed HL1, this site used to be great. First was the dodgy Global chat addition, and now this. It does make you reconsider membership, which is a pity, since there are some great people on here. I miss the old SH.

In defence of the dev team, they’ve always built based on user feedback, and whilst the previous site versions we’re all accustomed to were great, they don’t tend to fit the current demographic where most users are logging in with phones and tablets. The drive towards mobile is pretty much inevitable now, so we have to keep up with the times. Fitting in with expanding mobile usage with its limited screen space whilst still accommodating the remaining desktop/laptop users is not condusive to great performance and speed, so compromises have to be made to support the “best of both” approach.

New features are tested in-house, and are then rolled out to the smaller sites first. Some changes are made as a result of that but the challenge is always going to be when we get to major sites like this one with many (dare I say more experienced) people actively using the functions. That’s always the acid test, and where we get the most valuable feedback.

Of course we won’t ever leave something broken on purpose, but at the end of the day the we have to rely on you folks to let us know what’s not working, and where things can be improved. From a purely business standpoint we have to move the site forward to keep it relevant, but that’s pointless if it leaves our loyal customers behind.

Please keep letting us know when we get things wrong, but also when we get things right. And if you have any feature suggestions of your own please feel free to drop us a note through a support ticket so we can review them for inclusion in future releases. That’s where we get our best ideas! 👌🏻

could not agree more, had a good gallery and the developers have fucked it up

Thanks for the feedback @Bob_Admin, as I stated in my support ticket this new gallery is for more cumbersome and slow loading on my iPhones and iPads, so is far from an improvement..

The new gallery is so confusing, when you open pics you find that that person has not been on for months. We need an up to date gallery with new pics.

While we are talking about confusing items, Why are old Meets still showing? I had a meet last January with the date on it yet it is still popping up?

the devs need to stop working on improvements and work on fixing the site itself. starting to get the impression this owners are more into the $$ now and not the users.

Not sure I am seeing the same issue. I open up the gallery, select 'Latest' and hey presto!!

Click symbol for video you get stills camera pictures to get video have to click still camera .. Also amazing the excellent consistency, sharp focus good lighting lack shadows colour etc ; in pictures from such a mixed bunch amateur photographers.

There are certainly a few issues here with meets and galleries. On the plus side the cost is very reasonable compared to other sites and most people are here for the reasons they say they are. Lets hope SH get these issues sorted out soon. Probably need to give them some time and until then constructive feedback

No we haven't as usual admin does what admin wants regardless of members feedback, this new format is woeful on mobile and even worse on pc/mac..

The main problem with the new gallery format is that when you click on a pic, that is in portrait orientation (vertical), the enlarged pic is cropped to fit landscape orientation. So you have about 1/4 of the top and bottom of the pic chopped off.

Apart from that, you can use the dropdown to select "latest" rather than "trending", so not too bad there.

Edit: Well bugger me... I logged on today and the pics are now displaying properly...

Click pics find listed 0ver 90 days which past year are the 90 days. Noticed had fun genuine one who dropped off years from site was then listed for some years over 90 days before covid on now 90 days still. Why years old photos ?Also taken profile pics without owners knowledge and published them in gallery.

Completely agree its a terrible change @admin. Why do IT crew have to change things that work????? Is it to justify their existince and look like they are doing some work????

I don't understand a word of what you are trying to say. What exactly is it that you are happy/not happy with?

you seem to miss the sarcasm surely their is suspicion google site technology different cameras all in focus same colours picels etc pics by many non pro photographers with various no fixed abodes
