This site was great way back when it was free, and then they started charging, and that was fine, but WOW just got a message saying it would cost us for the year, that's a joke guys with less and less cams and more and more singles here its really not worth it. I think we will find another place to find our fun. Who else thinks this is now just a money making scheme

Hi Coasties, Seems it is a sign of the times with increasing costs. No one ever expected it to be free forever, and the initial small outlay to get you onboard was no doubt a sweetener to recruit "Extras". IF the site costs blow out to the amount you specified it will be cause for review for many I believe. The amount of :- 1. Single Male idiots who join for free and pester the genuine ones, 2. People who join and are compelled to create an "Ad" only to never come back 3. People who are 2014 years old ( that's creepy) 4. No location on profile 5. Cams dropping out and never being able to get into the premium chat room because it is always full of wannabe freeloaders... 6. Groups that have no functionality at all, just places to join and Forums that don't notify you.... I have more I could detail but these alone rank high in the list of issues with this site. Hope you find your Nirvana Coasties, should we be placed in a position where we need to consider such costs we will need to seriously consider the validity of it. Cheers Peter
We have had limited pickups from this site since joining but now have the contact for several parties and clubs which are always active. So many people on this site are not what they say they are.

Rose I never actually left, I changed names at same time I went from single to Cpl, my mistake that I didn't just change to cpls as I couldn't work out how. $120 isn't cheap compared to other sites either its on par with others, anyhows its just my opinion that its a lot to pay but also seems others feel the same

speaking as a single bloke ,,I recently changed from paying monthly to the annual fee ,,including the extra's I paid $150 and for me I find that to be outstanding value ..sure I could pay less and not have the extra's or pay nothing and have limited ability to contact others ,,but the very low level of scammers here is by far better than most other sites I know of ..for me the chatrooms ,,the cams (despite the vast majority just being wank cams) the forums, ads and sometimes the stories are weel worth the fee ,,yes there is very large amount "lurkers" and wannabe's who will not chat or meet ,,but that I feel is the same for anywhere ,,not just here.
work it out. 124 a year is just over $10 a month which is $ a week give or take. one night at the couples club is $130. If its all the extras i would say its not too bad for the price.
We're here a lot so we must like this place, but due to our early membership it's free for us. If we had to pay - especially if we had to pay the rates being asked - there's no way we would be here. We won't even pay for extras here. No, it's not because we're tight arses (well, we are, but not in the money sense ), but because in our opinion the quality of this site doesn't really deserve a fraction of the fees they ask.
We have raised a number of basic issues in the past - some bugs, lack of basic features, etc. We were even amenable to donating some of our time to help improve things. We got told that they weren't going to fix or improve anything because a brand new site was just about to be released. That was nearly a year ago now. A year!
In comparison, take one look at the professionalism of other sites. Look at the vast amount of profile detail at AMM, or the spectacular events section at RHP. Look at the professional design and feature-rich search options at both of those sites, and that even free trial members can reply to (but not initiate) as many messages as they receive. And what membership do they ask? RHP is currently $114 for 12 months of their basic membership.
I will admit that SH does provide chat rooms that are more popular than we see on other sites, and of course there are some nice people here. But we simply cannot fathom how SH charges what they do for what they offer. And we're stunned that a lot of people actually pay it!
I should also be free but because guidelines weren't clear on the matter I changed my profile name and to a cpl at same time and lost my free membership, I did tell admin and they gave me this yr free, but really is way to much for what this is, the cost cant be that high they need to charge that much. Any how wont change things, not going to pay that much, and now there will be one less cam on the weekends because we wont be in there either.
They wont even come to the party and look after couples with simple things like a cam block to stop unwanted people from viewing your cam, In fact the whole site seems to be geared towards singles now because that where the money is i suppose.
I would also like to see the people getting this site for free start to get charged for it and see what they have to say then. I mentioned this in the chat room yesterday and was talked down to like i was a child by one of these "FREE" members, Telling me how cheap i am and not to whinge about it.
I can understand costs going up but more than doubling the price seems a bit money hungry to me.
We have a family and a house to pay off like so many others on here and i don't know if what we get out of this site will justify the cost, now if they had a couples only area maybe i would reconsider but i highly doubt that will ever happen here.

yes the site could do with some improvements but then so can all sites. the chat rooms are better here than on any other site ive been on. one i went to put a message up when somebody entered or left the room, most annoying. the mods do a great job as far as im concerned and they do it for free.
a couples only room would be good but is a couple really a couple or just a couples profile ?
the site works , may not be as professional as some with all the fancy fading etc but its not as old either. i would like to know more about how the new platform is going.
maybe a few to many sections in the forums, replace one with a news update section.
as for singles theyre the reason we closed our amm and RHP profiles.

Like any club, organisation or group we join there will always be pros and cons, good people and wankers, fun times and sheer boredom at one time or another so whether or not people pay a large amount or are free members, no site is ever going to be perfect for everybody all of the time.
If this site works for some of the time then its money well spent and what price paid for meeting some very good friends and enjoying some unforgettable experiences.
When we joined the membership was at around 30K and now its 161K but realistically there would only be a small percentage who are active members and even on a busy night, there are only about 600 members in the chat rooms.
Like any cost structure, when the price gets to a certain level people start dropping out and so the price goes up to cover the shortfall and then more people drop out so the pool of potentials is reduced and then more people drop out until there is only one lonely single guy left on cam with a droop in his hand waiting for some company...
We have been on here for over 3 years and I have seen little change in the format and features, a good start would be an expansion of the profiles and compulsory to include details like age, marital status and location etc and LISTEN to the complaints and suggestions from members and act upon them.
Re your comment about singles on AMM, we have had far less hassle from them there than here. I know some sites pop up warnings if you try to message someone who is not seeking you (eg. A single guy messaging a couple who are not seeking single guys). Maybe that helps, and is another example of how other sites offer better features and yet are still cheaper.
Even more interesting is that presumably other professional sites pay staff to manage the site. Here they rely on free volunteers as moderators, and the admin rarely seem to get involved. So the admin are doing less, but the site still charges more. Price gouging much?
I know a daily rate is low yes but we don't use the site daily, as most don't. Mr two I like your input most of time, but its easy to sit there and comment about costs when you don't pay as your still on the free membership as I understand it, wait till they decide to charge you and then lets see how long you think like that. The reason this site took off was because it was free and many ppl came over from the other 2 sites, now its on par lets see how many go back. They started out doing a service to this lifestyle but now have turned it into a business.
coasties, yes im still on a free profile. if i was charged and got full access im not 100% but pretty sure i would pay it. I would cut back to just my wifes profile but i would like to see some changes like TT said about messaging.
I think its wrong that you got taken off free and charged due to a change in profile. that really should be looked into.
just a thought, would you be happy to pay less and put up with paid advertising popping up or running in the side of the screen. It works on some sites i go on.

There are a couple of people I have been talking to who I really enjoy talking to and that's great. But what I do grow very very tired of is the single male bashing in forums and in rooms. Not everyone is bad some of us are really quite frikin nice. I've found a lot of couples on here who are very opinionated which is fine if there opinions where based on fact. Also not everyone is just out to fuck the first thing that moves and just because people say hey would ya like a drink doesn't mean they are saying you wanna fuck.
Back to original point the chat rooms are ok but again as a single it is hard to get a chat in. I won't be renewing when my account has ended.
Reality is business's are there to make money and maximise profit. The operators of this site are no different and will either succeed or fail on the service provided to its customers. Raising the annual fee to what other service providers charge puts the business in direct competition with the others. Customers will then decide which offers the better service overall.
Whilst SH might advertise 160k+ members, the truth is most are not active swingers. One only has to look at a members profile to see when that member last logged on. Free membership is a marketing tool utilised to entice people to join and to inflate the membership base.
We have been on this site virtually from the beginning and in the chat rooms every day. Originally we had free membership but discontinued our membership briefly before re-joining as fully paid members. We have met and played with some wonderful people through the chat rooms.
What we find particularly annoying is:
the response (if at all) from admin over issues raised.
too many guys think this is a site to get free sex (no surprises there!!!!)
the flooding of chat rooms whenever there is a 'hot' cam on effectively shutting down chat.
the inability to join a chat room because of the above.
scant details on members profiles.
the inability to contact mods at times when an issue arises (there have been occasions when there hasn't been a mod in any of the chat rooms. Given that SH has decided to raise its membership fee perhaps they should look at providing a stipend to the moderators).
Filter option so that only other members who match your profile can see yours.
What we would like to see:
identification of all members to be verified by cam...if you can't afford a cam you cant afford membership plus just about anyone can digitally alter a photo these days for verification purposes.
no access to contacting members, cams or joining chat rooms unless a fully paid member.
requirement that couples differentiate themselves...hate opening a couple cam to find in most cases it is usually just the male.
We are currently moderately happy with site but will reassess when membership is next due.

We have played with a number of single males from this site...all through getting to them in the chat rooms and at meet & greets. Unfortunately we find the majority of single males (god how many are married or have partners that don't know) to be dishonest in the extreme. As a single male you are competing against a lot of other males for a small base of couples/single females. Unless you can rise above the rest of the wannabe's you will not have much luck, if at all. We are in the chat rooms every day and are pretty astute at picking out the fakers. If my wife says hello to a single male in the chat room most of the time it is taken as a come on. Whilst we are swingers that doesn't mean we will play with anyone. We actually prefer single males (straight) as we have found the whole couple thing daunting and very unproductive. Sorting the chaff out from the wheat tho is an exercise in itself.

One of the reasons we left AMM....it was too pricey especially when you added the extra cost for gold membership.

There are deterrents to sites like this but I believe if the Site Operators look at appeasing the genuine people and not the masses, there will be a more harmonious community in here long term. Of interest is the contributors to this post, the overall majority being couples.... I believe that speaks volumes. Having checked the prices ourselves, the $156 somebody mentioned earlier includes extras, which makes our earlier comparison a bit unfair. SH currently has a 4th anniversary discount, and RHP has a Valentines discount. Ignoring those and going with the "usual" prices, the annual rates for the most basic level of paid membership are as follows... SH: $ RHP: $ AMM: $ So SH is in fact cheaper than the others, and we retract some of our earlier comments. However we still feel that SH is a very amateurish site with far too many bugs, silly restrictions, and an admin team who are seemingly unwilling to fix even the most basic of problems (let alone the far more serious problems which can't be mentioned!). We don't think it is worth half the listed fee, and so we are thankful and appreciative that we got in early and our membership remains free (something that we CAN praise the admin team for).
We have also been here long enough to qualify for free membership and regularly purchase extras. We came here from RHP and AMM attracted not only by the price difference but by the nature of the site. SH isn't as "professional" as the other sites, but therein lay it charms. It is the people on this site that make it special, like members that organise meet and greets (a feature we are yet to find on other sites) and the caring moderators and key holders that man the chat rooms. We regularly paid $180+ at RHP and believe we get more from this site than we ever got from RHP.
Re AMM costs we are silver members on AMM on a 12 month membership and its costing about 13 bucks a month and have had way more contacts and meet ups than on SH , plenty of contacts and meet ups . great value for money
Of the main Adult sites AMM would be the best followed by RHP then SH . AFF would not even bother with it after the changes a while back
