Yes but the point was that it USES UP annual leave. One only gets so many days and once they're gone they're gone. Where I work it is a LOT harder to take unpaid leave (which you'd need to do if you have no annual leave left). And some of the girls are in more casual jobs where no show up for work means no pay.
